Every child is special and unique in their own way. At Punah Santulan we cater to a wide range of child mental health issues. Our team consists of experts mental health professionals such as child psychologist, child counsellor and mentors, who can are trained and experienced in assessing, diagnosing, managing and guiding the children to reach their best potential in life. 

Personalized support for a child at either specific times or throughout it is an important entitlement. Children if screened and assessed during early childhood for the signs of probable mental health conditions in case of their language, behaviour and motility skills can help in a better prognosis for the child’s condition. The specific interventions are designed, to help the individuals with special needs achieve a higher level of self-sufficiency and success in school and surroundings.

In addition to child counselling and guidance, we cater to psychometric testing and behavioral therapies for:

  • Learning disorders (dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia etc.): children with learning disabilities see, hear, and understand things differently. This can lead to trouble with learning new information and skills and putting them to use. The most common types of learning disabilities involve problems with reading, writing, math, reasoning, listening, and speaking. If a certain area of learning is consistently problematic, it might indicate a learning disorder.
  • Autism: characterized by difficulties with social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behaviour. Signs of autism mostly become evident by the age of 3 years, this can be noted by the parents or caregivers.
  • ADHD: children with ADHD may also have trouble focusing their attention on a single task or sitting still for long periods of time, the signs of ADHD can appear in the form of inattention, impulsivity or both. 
  • Intellectual Disabilities (Mental Retardation): Individuals with intellectual disability can experience difficulty in thinking and understanding due to the level of Intelligence Quotient (IQ). Life skills that can be impacted upon include certain conceptual, social and practical skills.
  • Other Mental Disorders: Mental health disorders related to mood and affect, perception, anxiety as well as addictions can occur in childhood and adolescent years. Mood disorders like Childhood Depression, Childhood Bipolar Affective Disorder (BPAD); Perceptual disorders like Childhood Psychosis or Schizophrenia, Childhood OCD is also a condition that is predominantly being seen in now a day in children of younger age wherein children are engaged in repetitive behaviors along with significant distress like handwashing, repeating certain words, fear associated with them and so on. Addiction can both be substance as well as behavior related like gaming, internet or mobile use or screen use for hours together. Psychiatric treatment are safe and available for children with mental health conditions as described above and these are generally provided along with psychotherapy or behavior modification along with parent management training for complete recovery.
